Stroke Through Plunger Pump

STROKE THRU PUMP

  • Designed to move high level of solids
  • Plunger strokes through top and bottom of barrel
  • Full open high efficiency cages
  • Machined shoulder plunger
  • Strainer nipple or mesh strainer (optional)
Black Gold Pump & Supply’s Stroke Trough Plunger Pump is designed for wells with sand, scale, and/or trash. Based off your well conditions and unit, a shorter barrel is used with long extensions and plunger. As the pump strokes, the plunger is always protruding out of the barrel. A sand seal is recommended below the valve rod guide.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  • How does the Stroke Through Pump Work?

The stroke thru pump works by utilizing a shorter than normal barrel and longer extensions both on top and bottom of the pump. The pump is designed for wells with sand, scale, paraffin, heavy oil, and solids. Based off your wells conditions and pumping unit stroke length, a shorter barrel and extensions are based off your applications. As the pump strokes the plunger is protruding 12-15” into the extensions causing a wiping motion which allows the solids and/or heavy oil to be displaced. The pump reduces friction, pumps more solids, and allows for better valve pump action. Traveling valve and standing valve cages are double valve to allow for maximum solid handling and highest pump efficiency rates.

  • Does the Stroke Through Pump come in both insert and tubing pump options?

Yes they do! We will customise the pumps in accordance to your well requirements in both insert and tubing options.

  • Can I run a RW, RX, Or TX Stroke thru pump?

No, the pump cannot be a ID threaded pump, it must utilize upper and lower extensions (RH or TH barrels)

  • How is the barrel and extensions designed to make a stroke thru pump?

Pump depth, plunger size, stroke length, SPM, and sucker rod string detail is all the data needed to design the stroke thru pump properly.

  • Will I lose production by the plunger going into the upper and lower extensions on the pumping cycle?

No, with the plunger by design only coming into the extensions by 12”-15” the slippage factor will not effect the pumps performance by over slippage.

  • Are there limitations on pump size or length of pumps

No the stroke thru pump is designed for all RH and TH pump styles and designed for the max unit strokes of up to 366”.

  • How do I know how to space the well out properly so the pump works to its highest efficiency?

Black Gold sales person will send you a design diagram or down hole design document explaining the proper space out process to maximum pump efficiency.
